Story

My name is Suzanne.
I'm a Registered Nurse with 10 years of experience, a mom of two, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist.
I spent my first pregnancy researching and planning everything except breastfeeding, because like many moms, I assumed it would be beautiful, effortless.
I knew how I wanted to feed my baby, and that felt like enough. (Plus, let's be honest, it's way more fun to look at baby clothes and nursery decor.) And while it was a beautiful experience, it certainly was not effortless. My daughter was born at the height of the pandemic. We struggled, and it felt like everywhere we turned for help we were given the same one-size fits all "solution."
When it felt like nothing was working for our family, I decided to do what was working and exclusively pumped for two years. At the end of our journey, I reflected on all I had learned from the experience. I knew there had to be a better way to support new moms. I decided to take matters into my own hands and began my path to become a CBS and IBCLC. I finished shortly before the birth of my second child, and was able to put my new knowledge to work for us from the start.
